My Office.....

This is what my office in Brantford looks like... it's a 12 x 20 single car garage that has been convered into a den...

Lately, I've been working from Belleville.... and staying at my parents house....

this is the desk I have been using

Quite a downsize?! That must be tough to get used to!

Wow, you have a lot of books in your office at home!

Hope you're feeling well. God bless you,

Hello, Mr. mackay,

You have been sooo quiet lately. Are you okay? We miss you! :)

We are going to Ottawa tomorrow and will be loving it! Of course, everytime I think of taking some odd shot, I will think of you. You have really changed the way I look at things when I have a camera in my hands...although I still forget sometimes and miss amazing pictures. Like when we were at the rally downtown the other day...I'm sure this guy walking a few people away from us was a guy from the sports radio station, he looked just like him, and as I was at home hours later describing him, I wondered why I never just clicked a shot of him right there! I did get a shot of another radio person to later indentify, and lots of pictures of ALL the people there.

Here in Montreal we have two seasons...hockey season and talk hockey season ;) As such, I thought of you today as I cleaned the livingroom and came across the following article, typed by one of my favorite writers, Mike Cohen of The Suburban...I know the play-offs are over for the Habs, but I got a kick out of reading it...I hope you do, too.

Public Eye — What it takes to be a trendy Habs fan

By Mike Cohen, The Suburban

As the Canadiens continue their run for a 25th Stanley Cup, it has become mighty trendy to be a Habs fan.

So what is really needed to officially become part of the trend, known simply as Habs fever? Well, I have drawn up this list.

• Have at least one Canadiens flag on a rear window of your vehicle. I’ve seen these flags before over the years, but never in such great numbers. They definitely make a statement. If you are driving around with your kids in the back seat and are looking for something to keep them occupied, ask them to count how many flags they see.

• Actually, watch the games live at the Bell Centre or on the tube. Try not to be one of those fans who catches the score at the end and goes to work the next day pretending you saw all of the action. I was fortunate enough to attend three games this season, but quite honestly, I prefer watching them from home. As an avowed multi-tasker, I will read and work on my laptop during the three periods, and do some laundry and make the family lunches between periods. But you really have to see a game live in order to appreciate the pandemonium at the Bell Centre. The place is loud, and the waving white towels add a nice touch.

• If you do not have tickets, take the family to a sports bar like Champs or La Cage Aux Sports where the atmosphere will be just as euphoric.

• On radio, tune into CJAD and the Team 990 in order to remain up to date on all of the latest developments. CJAD’s Rick Moffat provides superb play-by-play, backed up by Murray Wilson, Abe Hefter and Rob Martier. As for the Team, they might not have the broadcast rights, but their daily coverage is comprehensive.

• On TV, instead of watching CBC coverage with Toronto Maple Leafs fan club co-presidents Bob Cole and Don Cherry, watch the games on RDS, with Pierre Houde and Yvon Pedneault at the controls.

• Log on to habsinsideout.com. This website/blog allows Habs fans from around the world to congregate.

• Wear a Canadiens jersey and cap when and where you can.

• Arrange your social calendar accordingly, meaning dinner starts promptly at 6 p.m, and ends just prior to 7:05 p.m. on game nights.

• High five your boss in the morning while shouting “Go Habs Go!”

Finally, let us be clear that it is definitely not trendy to take part in anything resembling a riot after a Canadiens game. What occurred last week was embarrassing to all Montrealers. Honk your horn, call an open line show, write a blog, but obey the law.
