An Evening with "Fish" and the Peterborough Petes
I got to spend an evening in Peterborough last night with my very good friend
Dave Fisher and several of his supporters and friends.... It was a fund raiser for Dave Fisher ... Founder of Epistle Sports Ministry.
Among other things, Dave is the Chaplain of the Peterborough Petes, and spent nearly 30 years as the chaplain for the Toronto Blue Jays.
Just over 50 people came to support Dave, to bid on some incredible sale items in a silent auction, and to watch the Petes take on Kitchener Rangers....
Hey mom.... Look what I got in the auction???!!!
No, you can't have it!
Actually, the story about the above picture is incredible.... That is Dave's son Nathan, holding the Jordan Staal Bobble Head that was sold in the auction... Nathan had bid on the item but in the end, was outbid by Kyle Dubas.....manager of Hockey Operations with Uptown Sports Management ( Sports agents for several NHL players, including Mike Fisher) ....
At the end of the auction, Kyle took the Bobble Head, walked across the room and down the steps to Nathan's seat and handed it to him as a gift .... I watched from a distance.... it was a very touching moment and a real class act!!
I love this picture of Fish..... he looks like he's at a book signing at Chapters!!
Fish, introducing 4 of the Pete's players..... you could tell in the banter back and forth how much they love Dave..... it was really neat to see!
This reminded me of the two little guys on the muppet show!
a Great picture of the Fish
This is Beth Fisher and her daughter Holly... I haven't seen them in ages.. it was SO good to catch up with them!!
Jamie Ramer from Hockey Ministries ( HMI ) drove all the way to Peterborough and was introduced as the LITTLE Fish!
I love this picture.... I soaked my hands in Palmolive!!
It was a great night... other than the score of the game!!
It was great to see you Fish.... Keep up the incredible work!!

Thanks so much for being my "offical" photographer. Most of all, thanks for just being there. It meant a lot.
Just one correction...
It was Nathan, not Matthew, who got the Jordan Staal bobblehead. Matthew wishes he did.
I'm going to "steal" some of the pix if that's alright!
Thanks!
David
