Broken Window # 3

well..... I gotta tell you.... some vandals are smart... others are NOT ....

This afternoon, I was sitting at my computer, with a Gaither Video on, laundry going .....
A typical day of rest!

and just as the dryer buzzed to signal my towels were dry..... I heard a crash.... I thought the dryer movement had jostled a bottle onto the floor or something... ..

" I spose I should go check that out... yawn " ...... and then I hear a rustling in the back room... the same sound a steel rod makes when a 12 year old kid is pulling it back OUT of your laundry room window.... and i realized ... THAT IS A KID.... THEY HIT MY WINDOW AGAIN.............

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... HOW DUMB DO YOU HAVE TO BE.... to smash a guy's window when his car is out front, the front door is open, the back door is open, there's MUSIC Playing inside.... and he's sitting 6 feet from the WINDOW??? JEEEEEEEEPERS!!!!

anyway, I went flying out the back door ( Keep in mind, I'm not built for speed, I'm built for comfort.... so when I say "flying" , that's a relative term.... lets just say I was moving faster than my NORMAL meander like gait....)

When I got outside, I spotted an 8' steel rod, bouncing on the grass.... almost as if a 12 year old blonde kid had JUST dropped it .....

and I spot the next door neighbour's kid running around the corner... so I caught up to him around at the front..... and invited him and his sheepish buddy, over for a visit....!

Andy, my not-very-happy-since-this-whole-thing-happened- landlord, lives next door on the OTHER side.... and he happened to be home.... in fact, he was sitting in his garage, with the door open... oh how very convenient ( insert evil cackle )

anyway, to make a long story short ( please do, Paul ) .... Andy called the police, they came... and the whole thing SEEMS to be out in the open....the kids ( 4 of them in all ) are known, four boys aged 10 or 11.....so Andy and I, plus 3 of the 4 boys, and their parents all had a little get together out front with the police....I wished I'd had my camera handy!!!

So now, the Condo Corporation has the names and addresses of the kids, and they now know who to mail the bill to, for the damaged windows....

sigh..... I guess now I can go have an afternoon nap!
