Turtle Crossing

a couple of weeks ago ( June 12th, actually ) I drove north to inspect some cottages near Bancroft....

while going north on Highway 62, I came around the corner and spotted this:

I stopped on the side of the highway..... and got out.... I approached him, hoping to scare him off the highway....

But he wouldn't move.... and THERE we stood .... in the middle of Higway 62, me'n the turtle!!!

I got as close as I dared... cause they really snap, ya know ( don't ask me why I KNOW this ) ....

I came up behind him and he darted back into the middle of the road.... doh!

Finally after traffic stopped both directions, he wandered off the west side of the highway...

tsk !!

that's funny....we picked up a turtle by the side of the road to keep as a pet. but the farmer we were on our way to see at the time, said that turtles don't make good pets because they snap...and can snap off fingers. so.....we drove back to an other farm and picked up a kitten that was offered to us earlier but we declined because Daddy didn't like cats. That was the begining of our cat rescue. 9 years ago wow does time fly!

well I heard that they are famous for passing on salmonella.... which is kinda disgusting!! My nephew used to have a little one... and they were always getting sick cause they touched the thing..

pfffff

what's the point of having a pet you can't TOUCH!!

hey.... How are you??!! I've been praying for you!!

Hey, that turtle was really cute we had! And I held it all the way from where we picked it up to the farm, and I did NOT get sick ;) The kitten made me sick because I had allergies!!
